Bishoftu Crater Lakes Day Trip

08:00 – Departure from Addis Ababa

Pick up from your hotel in Addis Ababa by private vehicle with your professional guide and experienced driver. Drive approximately 45 km southeast of Addis Ababa to Bishoftu, also known as Debre Zeit, a beautiful highland town famous for its volcanic crater lakes.

09:00 – 10:30 | Lake Bishoftu

Begin the day at Lake Bishoftu, one of the area's most scenic crater lakes. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and panoramic views of the lake, with time for a leisurely walk along the lakeside and photography.

10:30 – 11:30 | Lake Hora

Continue to Lake Hora, another beautiful crater lake surrounded by green hills. Spend time enjoying the scenery while your guide explains the volcanic origins of the lakes and the local environment.

11:30 – 12:30 | Lake Babogaya

Visit Lake Babogaya, known for its peaceful setting and attractive landscape. Enjoy the lakeside views and take photographs before continuing for lunch.

12:30 – 13:30 | Traditional Ethiopian Lunch

Enjoy a traditional Ethiopian lunch at a local restaurant or lakeside establishment. Relax and enjoy Ethiopian coffee or tea after lunch before continuing the afternoon excursion.

13:30 – 15:00 | Lake Kuriftu & Scenic Area

Continue to the Lake Kuriftu area and enjoy the surrounding scenery. Depending on your interests, there will be time for a relaxed walk, photography, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere around the crater lakes.

15:00 – 16:00 | Local Experience & Coffee

Spend some time exploring the local area and experiencing everyday life in Bishoftu. Enjoy a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony when available and take in the relaxed atmosphere before beginning the journey back to Addis Ababa.

16:00 – 17:00 | Return to Addis Ababa

Begin the drive back to Addis Ababa. Drop-off at your hotel or another agreed location, bringing the day trip to an end.
