Culture & Etiquette
- Greet people politely; ask before photographing people.

Money & Food
- Currency: Ethiopian Birr (ETB). Cash is important outside major cities.

- Injera, vegetable stews, lentils, shiro, and Ethiopian coffee are highlights.
Vegetarian options are common.
- Tipping is appreciated for good service; ask your tour leader for guidance.
Remote Regions: Danakil & Omo Valley
Danakil: extreme heat, dust, rough roads, basic facilities, limited
connectivity. It is an adventure, not conventional sightseeing. Never leave the group
without telling your guide. Bring breathable clothing, closed shoes, headlamp, extra
water, and wet wipes.
Omo Valley: long drives, basic facilities, and rich cultures. Visit with
patience and respect, and always ask permission before photos.
Transport & Connectivity
- Domestic flights on Ethiopian Airlines save time to Lalibela, Gondar, Bahir Dar,
Axum, Mekele, and more.
- Road travel is common. Remote routes can be rough and slower than expected.
- Internet is available in cities but limited or unavailable in Danakil, Omo, Simien,
and rural areas.
